VASCO: Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Leo Rodrigues has on Tuesday said that development works will be taken across all 25 wards of the MMC jurisdiction under the 14th Finance funds.
“We have received a fund of Rs 5 crores under the 14th Finance scheme. We have decided to equally distribute the funds for works across all 25 wards to see development works under all the MMC jurisdictions simultaneously,” he said.
Rodrigues added they have been informed by MLA Krishna Salkar that there must be no discrimination between the ruling and opposition Councillors and that every ward must get enough funds to take care of drainage, paver or footpath works.
“All the councillors are united when it comes to development works because we are elected members representing the people of our ward. We are thankful to our MLA Krishna Salkar and UD Minister Vishwajeet Rane, and it is only when the MLA and MMC are hands in hand, that we can expect good development works across all locations,” said Rodrigues.
