PONDA: Furious parents refused to send their children from GPS Kasayale Usgao to classes this morning in protest against the construction of the mobile tower on School Premises.
The parents said they would only send their children to school if the government discussed the tower issue.
They asked the government to shift the mobile tower 300 meters from the primary school.
Rajendra Gaude, PTA Chairman, Ulhas Gaude criticised the government on the tower issue.
Gaude said around 70 children are learning in GPS, including Anganwadi classes.
He said parents fear harmful radiation effects pose a risk to Children’s health.
Ulhas Gaude said they were planning another room construction, but sadly, the mobile tower company forcefully dug a huge chamber for the mobile tower’s foundation, posing a risk to children.
Fearing parents will remove their children from school already, some private Schools have displayed boards for the public near GPS asking to take admissions in Private schools.
The parents said they will only send their children to school once work is stopped and the government authority discusses the tower issue.
The Parents even wanted in writing from the government that if there was no harm from tower radiation.
