Putin also expressed appreciation for Modi’s approach and his emphasis on peaceful means to resolve the conflict. He said the Indian Prime Minister has shown a consistent interest in finding mutually acceptable solutions.
Modi has repeatedly called for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the war, which began in February 2022. India has maintained engagement with both Moscow and Kyiv while advocating a peaceful settlement.
During his recent interactions with Putin, Modi reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy remain central to resolving the conflict. He has also stressed that India supports efforts aimed at establishing an early and lasting peace.
The latest remarks from Putin come as India continues to maintain diplomatic communication with both sides. Modi has previously highlighted India’s relationships with key stakeholders as a potential avenue for supporting meaningful peace efforts.
Putin’s comments underline the Russian leadership’s recognition of Modi’s repeated calls for an end to the conflict and his continued emphasis on negotiations rather than prolonged hostilities.
