VASCO: Murgao Hindu Samaj has requested the state government and Mormugao Municipal Council to allocate the land reserved for constructing a Hindu crematorium to them to build a pollution-free crematorium at Maimollem in Vasco.
Addressing a press conference in Vasco on Wednesday, vice president of Murgao Hindu Samaj Shekhar Khadapkar said that the Mormugao Municipal Council has adopted a resolution long back to hand over around 8,600 square meters of land located at Maimollem to Murgao Hindu Samaj to built pollution free or electric crematorium.
He said that the construction of the crematorium will be planned under the guidance of industrialist and philanthropist Narayan Bandekar.
