PONDA: Nanus Usgao locals, along with three Panchmembers, today grilled the PWD Daag Ponda Office over the water shortage issue and warned to bring Morcha to Office if their long pending case of water shortage is not solved immediately.
The locals complained that despite informing about the problem, it was neglected by PWD, and so they were forced to protest against the action.
The locals complained that they were fed up with the water crisis. There is no timing for the release of water supply, further timing is uneven, and they can’t fill utensils and water tanks in their homes if water is released at Midnight.
The locals complained the major issue is their tank never got filled for reasons they don’t know.
Due to the shortage of water supply, the locals inspected the water tank at Marwasada today and were shocked to see that the top of the tank is without proper cover, and the concrete and cement piece are fallen into the tank.
The locals also said that the white powder of the surrounding hot mix plant spreads in the area and falls into an open water tank at Marwasada, thus forcing the locals to drink polluted water. They urged the officials to repair the water tank immediately and put a proper cover to prevent dust pollution in the water tank.
The JE Mahesh Gaunekar assured us to look into the matter.
