PANAJI: Goa Badminton Association celebrated National Sports Day by organising friendly league team competitions at Indoor stadium, Ponda Sports complex.
The event, held in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Goa, was hosted by Ponda Shuttlers.
RCC Trainees from various centres competed with one another during the morning sessions, whereas afternoon and evening sessions featured ranked and non ranked players from all over Goa representing 6 teams, one each from Margao, Ponda, Mapusa, Chicalim, Panaji and Porvorim. Powered by Adidas Badminton and Parama Heartbeat Sports, it was a day of fun and excitement apart from being a refreshing change from regular badminton routines. RCC Trainee Teams from Chicalim and Panjim excelled during the morning sessions.
In the Junior, senior and veterans categories, Teams from Margao and Ponda bagged top honours. To A National Sports Day get together of badminton players and enthusiasts was later held at SRK Baag along Resort, Khandepar.
