PANAJI: Concerns over frequent power outages and persistent low voltage in parts of Navelim Constituency were taken up with the Electricity Department on Monday, following a delegation meeting with senior officials in Panjim.
A team comprising Siddesh Bhagat, ZP member Danny, Aquem Baixo Sarpanch Milind, and Davorlim-Dicarpale Sarpanch Menino met Chief Electrical Engineer (Distribution) Stephen Fernandes to highlight the ongoing issues affecting residents.
The delegation informed the department that repeated electricity interruptions, particularly during peak hours, have been causing significant inconvenience to households and businesses. They also pointed out instances of appliance damage and disruption to daily activities due to unstable voltage levels.
The representatives urged the department to take immediate corrective action to restore consistent power supply in the affected areas. They further called for long-term upgrades to infrastructure and improved maintenance systems to prevent such recurring problems.
Chief Electrical Engineer Stephen Fernandes assured the delegation that the concerns would be examined on priority and necessary steps would be initiated to address the issues raised by the residents.
