CANACONA – The National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) organized a 2-day Orientation Programme on National Mission for Mentoring at Navodaya Leadership Institute Canacona South Goa on Thursday and Friday.
The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) highlights the need for a National Mission for Mentoring (NMM) in Para 15.11. Accordingly, NCTE has proposed a National Mission for Mentoring as a means to improve the acquisition and sharing of knowledge, skills, and mindsets for school teachers across the Indian
education system.
NMM underlies the importance of short and long-term mentoring/professional support to Teachers in various modes-Online, hybrid, physical, synchronous and asynchronous Mode.
National Mission for Mentoring (NMM) was launched in pilot mode on 29th July 2022, on the second anniversary of NEP 2020, in 30 central schools, 15 KVs, 10
JNVs, and 5 CBSE across the country. For the effective implementation of NMM in pilot mode, Nodal Officers and School Leaders/principals from these 30 Schools
participated in this Orientation programme so that they will motivate and encourage the teachers to apply as mentors/mentees.
