PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today state government will have to follow Supreme Court of India guidelines on NEET.
CM also said that Goa MBBS admissions will soon begin after the final result and as per guidelines.
“Will have to follow Supreme Court directives on NEET. Will start MBBS admission soon after the final results. Strict action is being initiated by the Centre on perpetrators of crime in the NEET Case,” said Sawant.
The opposition MLAs requested the state Government to communicate to the centre to cancel the NEET exam and hold the Common Entrance Test (CET) to facilitate admission to medical studies.
“Students are under immense stress,” the opposition said
AAP MLA Capt Venzy said that due to NEET, there is total failure. Is it discrepancy or Golmaal in order to accommodate someone?
“This failure across India. Community trust is failing somewhere. Make the essential amendment to gain the trust of medical students again,” said Venzy.
Sawant said that as soon as the re-revised Results of NEET-2024 declared by NTA are submitted by applicants, and the Schedule of the admission process announced by the Medical Counselling Committee of Directorate General of Health Services, Govt. In India, the Directorate of Technical Education will proceed with the admission process to all NEET-based courses.
“I wish to assure the Members that students and parents need not harbour any concern over the impact of NEET-2024 Results on students’ careers and I also assure the House to conduct the remainder Admission Process to all NEET-2024 based courses at the earliest and facilitate students pursuing their career in these courses,” CM added.
