Panaji: The newly elected Executive Committee of the Goa Olympic Association (GOA), led by President and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sadanand Shet Tanavade, met Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant at his official residence in Altinho and discussed the Association’s vision and priorities for the 2026-30 term. The delegation highlighted its focus on strengthening athlete support, improving coordination with State Sports Associations and building a stronger sporting ecosystem in Goa.
During the interaction, GOA also requested the Chief Minister’s intervention for the release of pending grants to sports associations and athletes, while seeking suitable office premises in Panaji to enable the Association to function more effectively and coordinate with affiliated associations and stakeholders. Dr Sawant assured the new team of the Government of Goa’s full support and cooperation in taking forward the State’s sporting development. Adding a warm personal touch to the visit, GOA Vice Presidents Sandhya Paliekar and Bhageshri Padloskar, along with Executive Member Rukmini Kamat, tied rakhis to the Chief Minister on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
