CANDOLIM: Nine persons from Ahmedabad, Gujarat have been arrested by police from Candolim for running an IPL betting racket.
During the raid, 17 mobiles, laptops and other items used to run the racket were seized during the raid on Villa at Candolim.
The total items seized during the raid amount to Rs 4 lakhs.
Sources reveal that the persons had been placing bets on various ongoing IPL matches.
Acting on specific information, a Candolim police team conducted a raid in a villa at a hotel in Candolim, where 9 persons were found betting on an IPL match.
“The accused were involved in IPL betting during the match played yesterday,” sources from police official informed.
