PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that his government has spent crores of Rupees in the power sector and there is no need for further investment for the next 25 years.
“The government has laid emphasis on underground power lines in the state by spending a large amount of crores of rupees. Given the investment made by the government in the power sector, there is no need for further investment for the next 25 years,” said Sawant.
He further said that in the last five years, Rs 2000 cr have been spent on power infrastructure including underground cabling and that another Rs 3000 crore will have to be bumped into for infrastructure.
Chief Minister also flagged off the Sky Lift Vehicles and Cranes for the Electricity Department at Mantralaya in the presence of Power Minister Shri Sudin Dhawalikar, MLA Jeet Arolkar and others.
CM informed that 32 Vehicles have been delivered and that 18 more will be added to the fleet that will provide service for 5 Years.
Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said that total of 38 vehicle-mounted sky lifts and 12 crane trucks have been hired.
“Each division will be allocated one crane truck, while each subdivision will be provided with one sky lift,” he added.
Sudin also added that the Tamnar Project will help to draw additional power to meet the increasing demand and will also improve the reliability of the interstate lines.
“As Goa cannot source Power from other States/Grid, the Tamnar Project will help to draw additional power to meet the increasing demand and will also improve the reliability of the interstate lines,” said Sudin.
