New Delhi: Aishwarya Dwivedi, wife of Pahalgam terror attack victim Shubham Dwivedi, has made a strong appeal for unity and restraint, urging people not to politicize issues concerning national security and the armed forces. Speaking publicly on Monday, she defended the controversial Operation Sindoor, asserting that such initiatives should never be questioned.
“There should be no politics around such sensitive matters,” Aishwarya said, emphasizing the importance of standing behind the armed forces. “The army is fighting at the borders. We cannot question the army at any cost,” she added. Reaffirming her trust in the ongoing investigation, she said, “We should be Indians first, not think like politicians.”
She also expressed disappointment over India’s decision to play against Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup cricket match. “Pakistan is not even worthy of talking to, and yet we are going to play cricket with them. This is way too wrong,” she said.
Recalling her meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the tragic incident, Aishwarya said, “PM mentioned to me that this is a long war. He was very sad when we met.”
Shubham Dwivedi had recently married on February 12 and was vacationing in the scenic Baisaran meadows of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, with his wife and her sister when terrorists targeted unarmed Hindu tourists. According to accounts shared with the family, Shubham stood bravely in front of the attackers and declared, “I am a Hindu,” before being shot at point-blank range.
At his funeral in Kanpur, Aishwarya, draped in his shirt, became a poignant symbol of loss and resolve, bidding farewell to her husband while vowing to seek justice and honor his sacrifice.
