PANAJI: A meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority was held under the chairmanship of Ankit Yadav to review preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season in North Goa.
During the meeting, directions were issued to all deputy collectors and mamlatdars to ensure that taluka-level control rooms remain operational round-the-clock during the monsoon period.
In line with decisions taken by the State Disaster Management Authority, instructions were also given to the PWD, WRD, municipalities and village panchayats to undertake proactive preventive measures in areas prone to waterlogging, landslides and dilapidated structures across the district.
Officials said a list of vulnerable locations was shared with all stakeholders concerned for necessary action.
A taluka-wise review of such cases was conducted during the meeting, and line departments were directed to initiate mitigation measures in advance to prevent any danger to life and property during the monsoon season.
