PANAJI: BJP Goa President Sadanand Shet Tanvade maintained that he haD no knowledge of what transpired in the meeting with the high command when CM Dr. Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane were called to Delhi.
Speaking to reporters in Panaji, Tanvade expressed ambiguity over the topics discussed at the meeting.
He said, “I was in Mumbai at the time, but CM Sawant and Minister Vishwajit Rane were called to Delhi.” I’m not sure what was discussed there, then. Asking them both directly about it would be preferable because they can both explain it more clearly. I can’t remark on anything regarding it because I don’t know anything about it.
In a clear direction, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) high command has asked Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane to maintain a cordial relationship to ensure stability of the State government till 2027.
Sawant and Rane were summoned by the party high command in the national capital on Monday evening. The meeting was held at Union Minister and BJP chief JP Nadda’s residence.
Union Ministers Amit Shah and Sukanta Majumdar, the national organising secretary BL Santhosh
among others attended the meeting. The leaders held one to one conversation with the State leaders.
While Sawant refused to comment on the purpose of the meeting with the senior leaders, the development comes against the backdrop of a statement made by Rane recently. At a public meeting, Rane said it was the state government’s responsibility to provide at least 22,000 jobs to unemployed youth in the state.
Sources informed that both Sawant and Rane are advised to maintain a cordial relation and ensure that the party is taken into confidence in the decision making. The leaders were asked that working together is important to maintain government stability and in the interest of the people.
It is also learnt that the Chief Minister, has been asked to revise the government decision of conducting recruitments through Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and revert back to the departmental level process.
