Panaji: BJP North Goa candidate Shripad Naik has said that it is not possible for Congress candidate Ramakant Khalap to defeat him.
“If Khalap had to defeat me, he would have done it in 1999 when he was the union minister. He could not do it then and wont be able to do it now,” Naik said addressing workers at Boca de Vaca, Panaji on Sunday.
Naik said that considering the situation of Congress party too, it is not possible for Khalap to defeat him.
BJP completes two rounds of
campaigning in Goa
Chief minister Pramod Sawant said that that Bharatiya Janata Party has completed two rounds of its campaigning in both the Parliamentary constituencies of the state.
Talking to reporters at Mapusa on Saturday, Sawant said that the party has completed two rounds of its campaigning in both the Parliamentary constituencies — North Goa and South Goa.
He said that the party candidates have been receiving overwhelming response from the people due to which the BJP will win North Goa seat with a margin of one lakh votes and South Goa by 60,000 votes.
The chief minister said that the people are bestowing their faith in the work of PM Narendra Modi in the centre.
State BJP chief Sadanand Shet Tanavade said that the party will release its state manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in next eight to ten days.
“Voters have seen what work the Modi-led government has done at the centre. We are sure of winning both the seats with huge margin,” he added.

Goans? asks Adv Carlos

PANAJI: Aldona MLA Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira has hit out at BJP North Goa candidate Shripad Naik’s comments that Adv Ramakant Khalap cannot defeat him, asking what has bhau done for Goa?
“What has ‘bhau’ done for Goa & Goans? He brought Ayush Hospital, Mopa Airport but how many Goans are working there?” he asked.
Adv Carlos added, “I can assure the people of Goa that Ramakant Khalap will be there for the people day & night:
He will not eb the one who will let the Goans down. I appeal to th people those who are not Congressman to come forward and support Khalap to bring in a change with difference.”
