Telaulim: In a dominant display, Parish Youth Nuvem secured their place in the semifinals of the UCT Trophy 2024 by defeating Santa Cruz Society of Poitomaddo, Cuncolim, with a convincing 4-1 victory. The match, organized by the United Club of Telaulim and held at the Government Primary School ground in Telaulim on Friday, saw Nuvem take a commanding lead from the outset.
By halftime, Parish Youth Nuvem had already established a 3-0 advantage. The scoring began in the 8th minute when Shubert Colaco found the back of the net, followed by another goal from him in the 24th minute. Meislein Barreto added to the tally in the 30th minute, solidifying Nuvem’s grip on the game.
The second half saw Cuncolim struggle to find their footing, missing several scoring opportunities. Nuvem, however, continued to press forward and extended their lead through Francisco Colaco in the 50th minute. Santa Cruz Society of Poitomaddo managed to pull one goal back through Ravesh Velip in the 56th minute, but it was too little, too late.
Shubert Colaco’s outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award, presented by Alvaro Dias, the former goalkeeper of Vasco. Colaco’s brace was instrumental in Nuvem’s victory, showcasing his skill and determination on the field.
With this win, Parish Youth Nuvem has cemented their position in the semifinals, setting the stage for an exciting continuation of the UCT Trophy 2024.
