PONDA: Ponda Police registered an offence against Ponda Post office employee Mukesh Bajpai for breach of trust, wherein it is alleged that the said employee failed to deposit the amount of Rs 60,637 in the postal account collected by him from insurants while performing his duty.
In this connection, Pramod Margaret, age 37, Inspector of Posts, Ponda Mukhya Dak Ghar, Ponda Sub Division, filed a complaint with Ponda Police against Mukesh Bajpai.
It is learnt that alleged accused Mukesh Bajpai, major in age, is working as postal assistant staff at Ponda Mukhya Dak Ghar, Ponda Sub Division was entrusted to receive money from insurants towards Postal life insurance and rural postal life insurance and intentionally did not deposit the amount of Rs 60,637/- in postal account collected by him from insurants towards their respective policies from 31/07/2021 to 21/10/2021 and further intentionally did not update the said data in their McCamish software, thereby misappropriated postal funds for his personal benefit and bring a public servant committed criminal breach of trust.
Hence registered Ponda PS Cr no 117/20222 u/s 409 IPC. FIR copies are being prepared for the onward submission to JMFC Ponda and other concerned superiors. Further investigation is in progress.
