Panaji: Chief Minister and Home Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant informed the Goa Legislative Assembly that only five cases involving dog bites, attacks, or using dogs to threaten minors were registered across the state from 2020 to June 30, 2025.
The breakdown reveals one case in 2020, two in 2023, and two in 2024, with no cases recorded in 2021, 2022, or the first half of 2025. The government, however, did not disclose complainants’ names, citing assembly rules that protect personal information.
In response to a related query, the Chief Minister clarified that no police officer has been found to have made false submissions before the Crime Branch or Vigilance Department regarding FIRs related to forged caste certificates or documents. Consequently, no disciplinary action was taken against any police official on this count.
The details were provided in response to a question tabled by MLA Altone D’Costa.
