Panaji, 26th April 2021 : The weekend saw three individuals being rescued at Candolim and Baga beaches all of who were caught up in rip currents.
Two male from Brazil aged 27 and 28 years were among the rescued. As they ventured into the sea to have a swim at the Candolim beach, they got pulled in by a rip current and started drifting in the deep areas. Noticing the victims struggling for help Drishti Lifesavers Bhaskar Ghatkar, Chandan Giri and Mehboob Tahasildar dashed into the waters and securing the victims onto a rescue board and rescue tube and brought the duo ashore.
Meanwhile at Baga beach, a 29-year old man from Uttar Pradesh entered into the sea. Experiencing a sudden change in the water levels, the victim found himself caught in danger. As he attempted to return to the shore, he was unable to swim and called out for help. Drishti lifesavers Suryakant Paryekar and Sagar Naik on noticing the victim rushed to his aid and secured him with a rescue board and rescue tube and brought him ashore. The victim was brought back safely and his vitals were checked. He was found to be out of danger.
