SANKHALI: Bicholim Police have booked a businessman for failing to comply with mandatory foreigner reporting norms.
According to police, M.V. Amit (41), a resident of Hillrock Residency, Saligao, and owner of Plot No. 407 opposite Nair’s Housing Board Colony in Sanquelim, had rented out a room to two foreign nationals: Miss Zarina (38) from Moscow, Russia, and Miss Antanina (37) from Belarus.
Police stated that the owner did not submit the mandatory online “C” Form to the FRRO, Panaji, within 24 hours of accommodating the guests, violating provisions of the Foreigners Act, 1946, and the Foreigners (Amendment) Order, 2016.
PSI Viraj Dhauskar of Bicholim Police Station lodged the complaint late on July 7. Further investigation is underway.
