CANACONA – It is an achievement of its kind, as the Government High School situated in the rural Padi village of Quepem taluka got 100% results in the Goa Board conducted SSC Examinations.
Leeherika Laximan Velip with 86.67% stood apart to rank first in the school, as all the 20 candidates who answered the SSC board examinations have passed out with flying colours, making the GHS Padi having mostly ST students proud of the achievements.
GHS- Padi-Barcem Headmaster Lawrence Pereira. informed Shrusti premanad Velip (81.83%) and Rohit Ratnesh Velip (77.83%) are the other two students belonging to ST community passed out with flying colours (Distinction)
8 students passed in 1st class, while 8 students in 2nd class made up the 100% results for the Padi-Barcem school, a dream come true for headmaster and teachers, and parents.
Interestingly, the school topper Leeherika has top scores (marks) in five of the 8 subjects she had answered including English(75), Hindi (86), Marathi(89), Social Science(82) and IT/Ites(99), while Manoj Manesh Gaonkar topped in Maths(78), Rohit Ratnesh Velip-Science (91) and Soniya Sangtu Velip –Agriculture (91).
Incidentally, GHS Padi –Barcem highschool having cent percent ST enrollments has a distinctive achievement of getting 100% results for the firsttime, except for the Covid period where all the students had passed out.
