VASCO: Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Thursday appealed to the people to vote for the BJP South Goa Candidate Pallavi Dempo in large numbers while stating that she had a high chance of being included in the Modi Cabinet as a Minster from Goa
Godinho was speaking to reporters after addressing a huge gathering of people at the Dabolimcha Raja Mantap in Dabolim in the presence of South Goa BJP Candidate Pallavi Dempo, Chicalim Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav and other BJP members
Pallavi Dempo spent the entire day canvassing in Dabolim constituency along with Minister Mauvin Godinho and others while even celebrating Eid at the house of Shaikh Abdullah in Dabolim
The day of canvassing began with the offering of prayers at the Narsinh Sateri Temple in Chicalim followed by a meeting at Susheela Winds, Meeting at Dabolimcha Raja Mantap, Eid celebrations at the house of Shaikh Abdullah, visit to the houses of Anacleto Dsouza at Jairam Nagar and Manuel Dias in Chicalim followed by meetings at Joggers park Chicalim and Last stop at New Vaddem and finally a Corner Meeting at Bogmalo
Speaking on Arch Political Rival Captain Viriato Fernandes without naming him, Godinho said that the defeat of Captain Viriato Fernandes was imminent
“We had begun campaigning a long time ago and this is the second time that Pallavi Dempo has visited the Dabolim Constituency and received a huge welcome from residents. The winds of good things usually start from Dabolim and we are confident that it will be a clean sweep from Dabolim this time. We are covering some weak points in the constituency and we have planned events at 8 locations today at Dabolim Constituency. Sometimes some people are fated to face defeat and they will face double defeat this time. They will see that the margin will increase by double and they will lose the South Goa seat and also face defeat in the Dabolim Constituency as well.” Said Godinho
“We have seen an overwhelming response to our BJP candidate because PM Modi has taken the country forward to great heights with so much visible development and I don’t think the Congress candidate has a remote chance to win the South Goa seat. PM Narendra Modi is stressing women’s empowerment and has chosen a woman candidate for South Goa. When you have an intelligent and highly educated candidate like Pallavi Dempo on the way to victory, she could stand a chance to become a minister in the Narendra Modi Candidate. PM Narendra Modi has a special affection for Goa and the contribution of the Dempo Family for Goa cannot be forgotten. Pallavi Dempo has very good educational qualifications and experience of 30 years in social service in the fields of Education, Sports, Media and other fields and I have a hunch feeling that she could be one of the ministers in the Modi Cabinet as well,” said Godinho.
Godinho also rubbished the claims of the opposition parties that Dabolim Airport would die a slow death and close down in the future
