CURCHOREM: The Palm Sunday was observed at Guardian Angel Church, Curchorem-Sanvordem with Eucharistic celebration and prayers marked for the day.
In the beginning of the Eucharistic celebration in the morning, the Parish Parish Priest Fr. Jose Caetano D’Costa blessed the palm fronds which were later distributed among the faithful.
Later in the evening devotees along with Fr. D’Costa, Assistant PP Fr. Ashlif Correia, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Convent sisters and members of Confraria participated in the procession reciting rosary and Lenten hymns with the images of Jesus Christ and Mother Mary re-enacting the ‘Passion of Christ’ followed by Veronica song sung by Rizelle Pereira unrolling the picture of suffering face of Jesus Christ.
Delivering the homily during the evening service, Fr. Movin Menezes, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Joseph Church, St. Jose de Areal, urged the congregation to reflect deeply on their spiritual journey and relationship with Christ.
“When we are disturbed and confused in life, we must learn to walk in the footsteps of Jesus,” Fr. Menezes said. He emphasized that true discipleship lies not in following personal desires but in surrendering to the will of Christ. He called on the faithful to become people of love and acceptance and concluded by encouraging them to seek God’s grace daily and trust in His divine plan.
