PANAJI: Aaron Farias has set up a title clash with Diljeet Velingker at the Panjim Gymkhana All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis tournament, being held at the Panjim Gymkhana premises, Campal, under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association.
In the men’s quarterfinals, Aaron Farias breezed past Manish Yadav with a commanding 4-0 victory, while Pranav Naik secured a comfortable 4-0 win over Khushal Naik. Diljeet Velingker faced a tough battle against Rishan Shaikh, eventually emerging victorious with a 4-3 win. Arvind Kumar advanced to the semifinals after defeating Chandan Caro 4-1.
In the semifinal stage, Aaron Farias continued his dominant form, defeating Pranav Naik 4-0 to book his place in the final. Meanwhile, former State champion Diljeet Velingker caused a major upset, overcoming second seed Arvind Kumar 4-2 in a hard-fought match to secure his spot in the final showdown against Aaron.
