CURCHOREM: Curchorem Police have registered a case against a Sanguem resident for allegedly driving in a rash and negligent manner and injuring a pedestrian woman near Govinda Posro, Kakoda.
According to police, the case was registered based on a complaint filed by HC 5441 Vinod Naik of Curchorem Police Station. The incident reportedly occurred on May 24, 2026, at around 7:25 pm.
Police said the accused, identified as Umesh Naik, a resident of Damal, Sanguem, was driving a Maruti Suzuki Alto car from Curchorem towards Sanguem when he allegedly lost control near Govinda Posro, Kakoda, and dashed against a pedestrian woman identified as Angelina Fernandes, a resident of Vodlemol, Cacora, Curchorem.
As a result of the impact, the woman fell onto the road and sustained injuries to her body.
Further investigation in the case is being carried out by HC Vinod Naik of Curchorem Police Station.
