PANAJI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the tragic stampede that occurred during the Lairai Zatra in Shirgao, Goa, which claimed several lives and left many injured.
“Saddened by the loss of lives due to a stampede in Shirgao, Goa. Condolences to those who lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon,” the Prime Minister said in a statement on Saturday.
He added that the local administration is actively assisting those affected by the incident.
The stampede, which took place in the early hours of the day, has led to multiple casualties and injuries, prompting a large-scale emergency response by state health services.
