CANACONA – Even as the Political upheaval scene has gotten up in the State, bureaucrats belonging to Saraswat lineage lined up to take Tapta Mudra Darshana. In this ritual, a heated Seal is stamped on the body at Partagali Jeevottam Mutt on the occasion of Ashadi Ekadashi on Sunday.
Until noon, no politicians had descended at the Mutt, though Union Minister Shripad Naik was expected.
At the same time, developments gave rise to the speculation that 8 Congress MLAs are contemplating joining the BJP party.
With the Traffic Cell of Goa police providing elaborate traffic arrangements at the 3-days Punyatithi Mahotsav of Shreemad Vidhyadhiraj Teerth Shripad Vader being held from Friday at Partagali Mutt, Dy SP(Traffic -South) who was at the Mutt to supervise the arrangements, was one amongst many of the Saraswat’s who took the Tapta Mudra Darshana at the hands of Partagal Swami Shree Vidhyadeesh Teerth Shripad Swami.Swami Vidhyadeesh with a previously heated (Tapta) Seal (Mudra) carrying a symbol of Srihari Vishnu is stamped on the body
At Partagal Math, the Hari Smaranam, the art of 3-days Punyatithi Mahotsav ceremony, began with Nirmalya Visarjana at 6.00 am and the Ashadha Ekadashi Ekaha Bhajan began at 7 am. The 24-hours Akhand Bhajan commenced at 8.00 am, which will go on till Monday.
The Tapta Mudra Dharana began as several devotees started to take the heated mudra stamped on their bodies, a ritual carried out by H H Vidhyadeesh Teerth Shripad Swamiji himself.
The heated mudra is stamped on the stomach, Chest and hand in quick succession.
Incidentally, the three days event of Punyatithi Mahotsav of Shreemad Vidhyadhiraj Teerth Shripad Vader Swami, which has come to an end with Shree Ramdev Veer Vithal Mahapooja on Sunday, had visitors and VVIPS also from Karnataka and Kerala besides Goa’s Governor and Chief Minister, has also observed the Akshadha Shukla Ekadashi on Sunday.
