PONDA: Door to Door campaign has been completed by candidates and their supporters along with distributing their symbols in full swing for PMC Elections. Some established old politicians faces challenge of young fresh candidates.The fresh as well as sitting and former councilors who are contesting are assuring various promise to voters to gain their votes. The voters too put forth their grievances before aspiring candidates .
The panels of political parties are also in frey with Fight is between Congress , MGP and BJP backed candidates. Intersting battles in some wards are expected. There is straight fight between two candidates in Ward 2, 9 and 15 while triangular contest in Ward no 5, 8 ,10 ,11 and 14.
In 15 Member PMC, two BJP backed Councilors are already elected unopposed from Ward 7 and 13 and following this 43 candidates to contest from 13 Wards.
From all the 13 Wards most of the candidates are young candidates and some of them are expected to give tough fight to some of female relatives of sitting councilors as well as former councilors.
There are five candidates contesting from Ward No.1 and all are fresh candidates. Roy Naik son of Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik is trying is luck from Ward no 1. The other four candidates are Nandkumar Pundalik Dangui, Tushar alias Lavlesh Tulshidas Kavlekar, Rajendra Narayan Nagvekar and Jyothi Keshav Kulkarni.
In Ward 2 there is straight fight between two Candidates namely Virendra Tima Dhavlikar who is sitting councilor while his rival candidate Rajesh Talaulikar is husband of sitting councilor Geetali Talavlikar.
From Ward 3 there are four candidates and all are new faces namely Cheryl D’Souza, Veronica Socorina Dias, Riva Maria Fernandis and Jothi Arun Naik.
From Ward 4 there are five candidates with sitting councilor Chandrakala Naik and sitting councilor Venktesh Naik both are sister in law and brother in law and contesting from same ward. Last time Venktesh Naik had contested from Ward 5 but now he returned back to Ward 4 where he had elected two times earlier in past. Both of them faces challenge from fresh faces namely Sandeep Pundalik Ghadi Amonkar, Narayan Raghavdas Manerkar and Saloni Shanto Naik .
In Ward 5 Ritesh Naik who is PMC Chairperson and elder son of Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik faces challenges of fresh candidates namely Sushant Gurudas Kawlekar, Shravan Satyawan Naik.
From Ward 6 all four fresh Candidates are Shaunak Vinayak Borkar, Leviya Fernandis and Manguesh Bhiku Kundaikar and Padmaja Devdatt Naik. Leviya Fernandis is wife of sitting councilor William Aguiar.
Ward 7 Candidate Vishwanath Dalvi elected unopposed.
Ward 8 candidates are Pratiksha Pradeep Naik, Sonali Sudesh Naik and Vidya Nitin Naik. Pratiksha Naik is daughter of sitting councilor Pradeep Naik.
In Ward 9 there is straight fight between Rupak Shambu Desai and Vincent Paul Caitan Fernandis.
In Ward 10 all three new faces contesting are Deepa Shantaram Kolvekar, Manaswi Paresh Mamlekar and Puja Kush Naik. Deepa is wife of sitting councilor Shantaram Colvekar.
From Ward 11 all three new faces includes Priyanka Navanath Shet Parkar, Shublaxmi Shailendra Shinkre and Vedika Vivekanand Volvoikar. Shubalaxmi is daughter of former Councilor Shailendra Shinkre.
From Ward 12 there are four candidates namely Santana Deodita Cardoz, Viraj Purushottam Sapre, Shivanand Vinayak Sawant and Ashit Ashok Verenkar. Shivanand is former Councilor while Viraj Sapre is also active in social work.
Ward 13. Vidhya Sadashiv Punalekar elected unopposed.
From Ward 14 three candidates contesting are Anand Pandurang Naik,Suraj Ramakant Naik, Ajit Tukaram Shet Parkar. Anand is sitting councilor.
From Ward 15 there is straight fight between Sampada Kishore Naik and Geetali Rajesh Sinai Talulikar who is also sitting councilor.
