PORVORIM: The Porvorim Police have registered an offence against one Basavraj Harijan, resident of Zosswaddo, Succoro, for allegedly wrongfully restraining and threatening a local resident over a sewage-related issue.
According to police, the complaint was lodged by Mr. Melchier Joseph Pinto Do Rosario (57), resident of Carrem De Socorro, Porvorim Bardez, who stated that on September 13, 2025, between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm, while he and his family were returning home from church and had reached near Survey No. 220/8 under Socorro Panchayat, the accused intercepted him.
It is alleged that Harijan wrongfully restrained the complainant and threatened him with dire consequences in connection with a sewage matter.
Based on the complaint, Porvorim Police registered Crime No. 89/2025 under Sections 126(2) and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
The investigation is being carried out by PSI Sachin Shirodkar, and a Notice for Appearance has been issued to the accused under Section 35(3) of BNSS.
