PANAJI: Veteran politician and former Union Civil Aviation Minister Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju has been appointed as the new Governor of Goa.
He replaces P S Sreedharan Pillai. The appointment will take effect from the date he assumes office, according to a press release from Rashtrapati Bhavan.
As part of the reshuffle, Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh has been appointed Governor of Haryana, and Kavinder Gupta as Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
The President has accepted the resignation of Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) from the Ladakh post.
