SADA: A python was rescued near the Electricity Department quarters at Sada following timely action by alert local residents on Wednesday night , preventing panic in the residential area.
The reptile was first spotted moving close to the staff quarters, prompting residents to exercise caution and inform experienced locals. Vikrant Kangralkar and Basu, residents of the area, responded swiftly and managed to safely restrain the python without causing harm to the animal or endangering the public.
Residents said the presence of the snake had created concern, especially as the area is frequented by children and morning walkers. However, the calm and coordinated approach adopted by the rescuers ensured that the situation was brought under control within a short time.
After the rescue, the python was later released into a safe forested area, away from human habitation.
Local residents appreciated the efforts of Vikrant Kangralkar and Basu for their presence of mind and quick response, stating that their intervention helped avoid a potentially risky situation and restored a sense of safety in the locality.
