MOPA: Qatar Airways has unveiled plans to steadily ramp up its international flight network, aiming to cover more than 120 destinations by June 15. As part of this rollout, the airline will reinstate its Doha–Goa (Manohar International Airport, Mopa) route starting May 16.
The move comes amid continued instability in parts of West Asia, which has impacted flight paths and schedules across the region.
In line with advisories issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), several airlines have been steering clear of airspace over countries such as Iran, Iraq, Israel, the UAE, and Qatar following recent military tensions.
Due to these restrictions, most flights connecting Goa to Gulf destinations had been suspended in recent weeks. Previously, Qatar Airways had extended limited operations only up to April 15, serving around 90 destinations globally, without including Goa in its schedule.
With the latest announcement, the airline has begun restoring connectivity in phases across its network. It also confirmed that flights to and from Doha are currently being operated through designated alternative routes to ensure passenger safety and maintain continuity of services.
