Curtorim: Two persons were injured after a car allegedly driven in a rash and negligent manner collided with a scooter at Zoriwado in Loutolim on March 6.
According to police, the complaint was filed by ASI Jitendra Gaonkar of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
The accident occurred around 1:20 pm when the accused driver, identified as Libarata L. Gomes, a resident of Loutolim, was driving a Maruti Baleno from Ambora towards Loutolim Market.
Police said that upon reaching Zoriwado, the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, swerved to the opposite side of the road and crashed into an oncoming Activa scooter that was travelling from PHC Loutolim towards Orgao.
As a result of the collision, the scooter rider Jhon Bosco Fernandes of Orgao, Loutolim sustained grievous injuries, while the pillion rider Jervis Simon Fernandes suffered simple injuries.
Further investigation is being carried out by ASI Jitendra Gaonkar of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
