QUEPEM:Three persons sustained injuries after a motorcycle allegedly being ridden in a rash and negligent manner collided with a scooter at Quepem.
According to a state complaint filed by ASI Sandeep Velip of Quepem Police Station, the accident occurred on February 27 prior to 12.20 am on the internal canal road from GCQ College, Quepem, towards the main road connecting Quepem to Curchorem.
Police said the accused rider, identified as Tanesh Naik of Xeldem, Quepem, was proceeding along with a pillion rider when he allegedly attempted to overtake another vehicle.
During the manoeuvre, he is reported to have swerved to the wrong side of the road and collided with a Pleasure scooter.
As a result of the impact, the scooter rider, Ashloy Anthony Noronha of Xeldem, and pillion rider Ashnida Fernandes of Borimol, both from Quepem, sustained injuries. The accused rider also suffered injuries in the accident.
Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving, and further investigation is being carried out by ASI Sandeep Velip of Quepem Police Station.
