Even as the State government says that it is making all out efforts to provide best healthcare facilities to the COVID19 patients, photos have now surfaced on social media which shows the patients are made to sleep on the floor.
The photographs reveal that in GMC ward no 115 there are no beds and hence patients are made to sleep on the floor with their own arranged beddings.
The State as on date has 5030 active cases while confirmed cases have crossed 22890.
The government release on Thursday said that there were 162 beds empty in North Goa COVID Care centres and 520 in South Goa.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has said that the government has been constantly upgrading the facilities in COVID19 hospitals but on ground it seems far from reality.
While there are about 150 beds in GMC’s four wards, there are around 220 in ESI hospital Margao and 100-odd in SDH Ponda.
Hence, the commissioning of South Goa District hospital is need of the hour as it will house 400-500 COVID19 patients.
