MAPUSA: Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) today protested outside the Town Planning Office in Mapusa for allowing illegal mega projects.
“Senior officials of the Town Planning Department have become sycophants and are allowing illegal mega projects. The environment is deteriorating on a large scale in Goa,’ said Parab
He further said that hill cutting, land filling, rampant construction of large housing projects are taking place without permission.
“We had also complained about this mega project in May. However, still no action has been taken by this department,” he added
Parab said that the chief officers of the TCP Department were briefed in detail but till date that officer has not taken any action and it is seen that this officer is not complying with the order given by the TCP minister himself to take action.
“The government should issue licences only to residential houses. No NOCs should be allowed for mega projects and hotels,” Parab said.
Large number of locals gathered in front of the government complex, Mapusa to protest against Dy Town Planner, Mapusa for not acting on complaints against mega projects in Bardez.
Parab said next bigger protest will be organised in front of the head office of TCP, Panaji and later even to the TCP minister’s residence.
