CANACONA: Canacona police have booked a motorcycle rider for rash and negligent driving after a collision near Jivottam Math at Partagal left three persons injured.
According to police, the case was registered based on a complaint filed by ASI Netaji Desai of Canacona Police Station. The incident occurred on March 27 at around 9.05 pm near Jivottam Math, Partagal, Poiguinim.
Police said the accused, identified as Deelip Gaonkar of Khotigao, was riding a Splendor motorcycle with pillion rider Nilima Velip from Jivottam Temple towards Nadkem, Khotigao. While proceeding along an interior tar road near Jivottam Math, the accused allegedly rode in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an oncoming Splendor motorcycle.
As a result of the collision, both motorcycles fell on the road. The pillion rider of the oncoming motorcycle, identified as Suresh Gaonkar of Khotigao, sustained fracture injuries to his right leg. The lady pillion rider and the accused also suffered injuries in the accident.
Further investigation is being carried out by ASI Netaji Desai of Canacona Police Station.
