PANAJI: The Pramod Sawant-led government is seriously considering changing the hiring procedures for all positions in all departments to better align them with the specific technical and other requirements of each job’s responsibilities.
According to Sawant, some of these hiring policies are out of date, and the task at hand is to update them so that they better reflect the type of position or job for which prospective employees are being hired.
In order to demonstrate how some of the recruitment guidelines are out of date, Sawant gave the example of the Laboratory Assistant position in schools, where the requirements state that applicants must have completed their HSSC (Class XII).
“It could be improved to ‘Science graduate,'” stated Sawant.
He said that similar changes and revisions to the recruitment guidelines are being considered for a number of other government jobs in all departments.
