TELAULIM: In a shocking incident, burglars struck gold at the Vernekar family at Telaulim in Salcete when they decamped with gold ornaments worth around Rs 69 lakh.
To their complete astonishment and surprise, the family discovered upon their return that the burglars had fled with gold items valued at approximately Rs 69 lakh.
It’s thought that the robbers broke the kitchen window’s glass pane to get inside the property.
To help in the investigations, the Margao police requested the assistance of forensic and finger print experts.
Police have started looking into the complaint that the Vernekar family filed, according to PI Tulsidas Naik, in charge of the Margao police station
He stated that as soon as the forensic specialists’ opinion is received, the FIR will be filed.
The Vernekar family allegedly informed the police that the gold items were carried home for a religious ceremony. Investigations are still being conducted.
Meanwhile, the Vernekar family has also announced Rs 2 lakh reward for any information on culprit and whereabouts.
