PANAJI: The Fifteenth Finance Commission Grants for rural local bodies for the state’s Fiscal Year 2024–2025 have been made available by the Union Government.
The 191 panchayats in Goa will receive the second installment of Untied Grants for the Financial Year 2022–2023—a total of Rs 9.69 crores.
A press statement from the Union government states that the awards are a portion of the funds made available by the Ministry of Finance in response to suggestions made by the Ministry of Jal Shakti (Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation) and the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
Every year, the money is disbursed in two installments.
With an emphasis on the 29 topics listed in the 11th Schedule of the Constitution—aside from salaries and startup costs—these funds seek to enable panchayati raj institutions and rural local authorities to meet local needs.
