VASCO: In a significant political development, Sancoale Deputy Sarpanch Girish Pillai tendered his resignation from the post on Monday. Pillai submitted his resignation to the Mormugao Block Development Officer, with Sarpanch Rohini Toraskar, Panch member Darick Vales, and other panchayat members present during the proceedings.
While Pillai officially cited personal reasons for stepping down, sources within the panchayat indicated that the resignation was part of a mutual term-sharing arrangement among the panchayat members. According to these sources, Pillai’s decision paves the way for the appointment of a new deputy sarpanch for the Sancoale Panchayat, as per the agreed-upon rotation system.
The Sancoale Panchayat will soon begin the process of selecting a new deputy sarpanch to ensure smooth functioning and continued development efforts in the village.
