PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant virtually participated in a meeting chaired by Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with agriculture ministers from across the country to deliberate on key issues concerning the agriculture sector.
Sawant said that from Goa’s perspective, emphasis was laid on leveraging technology-driven initiatives such as Farmer ID under Agri-Stack to build a comprehensive digital ecosystem for farmers. He noted that the initiative would enable better targeting of schemes, improve service delivery and empower farmers with access to real-time agricultural support.
The Chief Minister stated that the government’s focus remains on ensuring small and marginal farmers receive timely inputs and fair market access.
He added that discussions on zonal conferences and collaborative participation would strengthen knowledge sharing and innovation across states, helping adopt best practices suited to Goa’s agricultural landscape.
Sawant further said that in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, efforts are being made to build a resilient, technology-driven and farmer-centric agriculture ecosystem to ensure sustainability, prosperity and long-term growth.
