MARGAO: SCC Lotoulim secured a narrow win over Santa Cruz Society of Poitomaddo Cuncolim 2-1 to enter into the quarterfinals of the 23rd edition of Bro. Eulalia Vas Memorial football tournament Org by Don Bosco oratory Fatorda at their ground on Friday.
SCC Lotoulim entered the field with renewed ideas and played at a fast pace in the very first minutes of play.
The target by Velroy Fernandes and Cuncolim tried to take control of the match but Austin Fernandes scored with a powerful shoot from the box in the 8th minute of Play and in the 9th minute of play Aniston Dsilva doubled the lead for SCC Lotoulim and by this they don’t stop the attack and missed another three chances to score then Santa Cruz Society Poitomado created a counter-attack as goalkeeper sent a long ranger shoot which was well collected by Vinod lip and gave pass to Jollyton Fernandes in the box who placed the ball in the far corner of the net to in the 20th minutes and till the lemon break scored remained 2-1 in favour of Loutolim.
As the match progressed in the second half both teams missed scoring opportunities SCC botulism Aniston Dsilva, Ignatius Dsilva and Shelford Fernandes failed to increase the tally while
Santa Cruz Society Poitomado Shankar, Vinod velip and Daulat Dessai failed to find an equaliser for their team while in the dying minutes, Viraj Velip missed the golden opportunity to level the score in one to one situation and shoot out of frame.
Flager Moraes defender of SCC Lotoulim who denied Cuncolim the equaliser on many occasions was awarded man of the match by Mahesh Kemble player of DBO.
