PANAJI: Goa state Election Commission (SEC) today has started the delimitation process for municipal wards for the general election to Ponda and Sankhali municipal councils scheduled this year.
“In exercise of the powers conferred under Sub Section (1) of Section 10 of the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968, Goa State Election Commission initiated dividing the Ponda and Sanquelim municipal area into wards for ensuing General Elections to these Municipal councils,” the notice states.
The Mamlatdar of Ponda taluka and Mamlatdar of Bicholim taluka are appointed as the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), and Awal Karkun in the office of the above referred Mamlatdars are appointed as Asst. Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) for the Municipal Council under their jurisdiction to carry out said the task of delimitation.
The draft delimitation proposal prepared by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) will be kept open in the Office of the respective ERO and also in the Office of the Chief Officer of the respective Municipal council from 01/03/2023 to 13/03/2023 (except Sundays and public holidays) during office hours for the general public to submit their suggestions/ modifications/ corrections pertaining to said delimitation draft of the Municipal Wards.
The suggestions/ modifications/ corrections may be submitted to the respective Electoral Registration Officer (ERO).
