MAPUSA: A 68-year-old man was caught red-handed for allegedly operating a gambling activity near Uday Bar in Tar, Mapusa, on Monday evening.
Based on a complaint lodged by Head Constable Pritam Dabholkar of Mapusa Police Station, the accused, identified as Tulshidas Bhikaji Rao, a resident of Rajwado, Mapusa, was found conducting a game of chance between 6:45 pm and 7:45 pm on June 17.
Police seized cash amounting to ₹1,500 and other gambling materials from Rao’s possession during the operation. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under Mapusa Police Station Cr. No. 88/25 for the offence under Section 11(2)(a) of the Goa, Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act, 1976.
Further investigation into the matter is currently in progress, police said.
