BICHOLIM: A senior citizen was injured in a road accident reported near the Zudio showroom at Bordem, Bicholim, leading to the registration of a case against a scooter rider for rash and negligent driving.
According to a complaint filed by Head Constable Santosh Jadhav (B.No. 4628), the incident occurred on June 11 at around 8:30 pm.
The accused, Rakesh Kumar, 47, a native of Patna, Bihar, and currently residing at Sastiwada, Bordem, was riding a Dio scooter (Reg. No. GA-04-B-7326) from Santadurga Circle towards Mulgao.
While passing near the Zudio showroom, Rakesh allegedly lost control and rammed into a Passion motorcycle (Reg. No. GA-04-D-1581) that was in the process of making a U-turn.
The collision caused injuries to the motorcycle rider, Govind Gharu Pal, 64, a resident of Lakherim, Bordem. He sustained injuries to his right leg and was assisted for medical attention.
The offence was registered at Bicholim Police Station under Crime No. 72/2025, invoking Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused was arrested on June 15 at 2:08 pm and released on bail at 2:34 pm** the same day.
Further investigation is being conducted by HC Santosh Jadhav.
