VAGATOR: The Health Department of Siolim inspected the location following an increase in complaints about the well-known W Goa Hotel on Vagator Beach discharging pool and sewage water into the ocean.
The health department conducted an inspection of the site on Friday, accompanied by concerned officials. The department informed the Vagator locals that water tests would be conducted on Monday to determine whether the released water was from the hotel or sewerage water.
Following a complaint from a resident of Vagator, Siolim health department officers visited the location to investigate. According to Jawish Moniz’s complaint, the W Goa Hotel on Vagator Beach has been unlawfully discharging wastewater and swimming pool water onto the beach.
The beach’s ecology has suffered severe harm as a result. Jawish had brought up this issue multiple times previously, but the Health Department officials visited the beach to conduct a site inspection following a flurry of complaints and information sharing.
Jawish alleges that the hotel management stops the waste water release whenever a health officer visits the beach for an inspection. The officer gave Jawish the assurance that the department would return on Monday to test the water using the appropriate tools after taking notes and gathering evidence from the scene.
