Curtorim: SFX Camarxet advanced to the next round of the Silver Jubilee Cup 2025 9-a-side Interward Football Tournament after a commanding 2-0 win over Paldem SC. The tournament is being organised by the Sporting Club of Virabhat at the St. Alex Church ground, Curtorim.
The match was an engaging display of attacking football from both sides. Camarxet came close to taking the lead early on when Casvino Fernandes unleashed a powerful shot, only to be denied by a brilliant save from Paldem goalkeeper Petermark D’Cunha. Paldem had their own chance when Elton Mascarenhas’ strike rattled the post in the 25th minute. The first half ended goalless, with both teams creating but failing to convert opportunities.
Camarxet broke the deadlock in the 30th minute of the second half through Anslem Fernandes, who calmly slotted the ball into the net to make it 1-0. The lead was doubled in the 40th minute when Rohit Shetty found the back of the net, putting the result beyond doubt.
Despite Paldem’s determined efforts to find a way back into the match, Camarxet’s defence held firm to secure a clean sheet and a well-earned victory.
Anslem Fernandes was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance. The award was presented by Conceicao Castanha, Treasurer of Sporting Club Virabhat.
