MARGAO: November 10th is the date that the government has set for finishing all outstanding tasks associated with the 18th Solemn Exposition of Sacred Relics of St. Francis Xavier.
Aleixo Sequeira, the Environment Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Exposition Secretariat Committee, made this revelation.
Referring to the Exposition Committee meeting that took place at the Secretariat on Thursday, Sequeira said that, in keeping with the earlier pledge made by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, no scheduled works will be delayed because of a lack of funding.
Additionally, he mentioned that some tasks, including building hangars, might be completed closer to the event because of the significant leasing costs associated with that setup.
In response to questions from the media, Sequeira confirmed that all parties involved, including the Church, are accountable enough to ensure the success of the Exposition while allaying concerns expressed by the people of Old Goa.
Since the Exposition is held every 10 years, the Minister continued, this is not the first time the State government has participated in it.
